Thoughts and Mace Advisory (T&M), a legal and legal advisory firm, has announced the registration and opening of a new office in Senegal.
This expansion represents an important step in T&M’s efforts to empower third-party companies, improve leadership, and provide technical support to clients across Africa, according to a statement signed by the company’s senior partner in Senegal, Niang wa Ibrahim.
Founded in 2006, T&M is dedicated to capacity building, advocacy, public policy analysis, and governance consulting.
The consulting firm was founded by Jude Ilo, a lawyer and former CEO of Open Society Foundations in Nigeria. Mr Ilo was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law (HiiL).
Based in Nigeria and with a new office in Senegal, the company hopes to strengthen its position in West Africa, and position it to serve the growing customer base in the region.
Mr. Niang said the Senegalese office is expected to be fully operational in 2025. “It will have autonomy in operations and programs and will cooperate with the Nigerian office to carry out transnational projects. It will be headed by Mr. Fanta Diaby, an expert in public affairs and a manager who is and business technology. Fanta has two master’s degrees: one in Human Resources Management and the other in Financial Policy. Having extensive experience in telecommunication and extractive industries, he brings strong expertise in accounting, project management, talent management, and finance,” he said.
Showing the need to establish an office in Senegal, the main partner of the organization said that the West African country has an interesting place for people who play an important role in solving economic, financial, and social problems.
Therefore, he added, “T&M’s expertise in capacity building, outreach, and governance positions it as an important partner for local CSOs seeking to improve their capacity.”
By establishing operations in the country, “T&M will work with the public sector, civil society, and civil servants in Senegal to address legal and regulatory challenges while promoting sustainable development.”
