The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has sacked the former Kano State Speaker, Musa Nuhu Yankaba, for partisanship.
In a press release issued on Thursday 23 January 2024, by the leaders of the Kawaji party in Nassarawa Local Government Area, the removal of Yankaba was due to the disloyalty of the party.
The decision to remove Mr. Yankaba took place shortly after he made a disturbing statement in an interview, saying that both the leader of the party, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and the governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, are no longer members of the NNPP. Mr Yankaba also insisted that the party, which was known for its fruit logo, was confused by the leadership’s decision to adopt a new logo with a book.
He also said that Kano government was elected under the original NNPP party and called on the party leaders to form a coalition to strengthen the party.
According to the document, Mr. Yankaba was called on Wednesday to defend himself against the accusations against him but he failed to appear before the leadership of the party.
This confirms the NNPP’s commitment to efficiency and integrity within the organization.
