Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda has announced the government’s commitment to holding credible local government elections that reflect the true will of the people. Speaking in the time of All about the Progressive Congress (APC) meeting at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Katsina, Governor Radda urged people involved in the party to canvas support in their areas.
The meeting was attended by several APC leaders in the state including former President Muhammadu Buhari who also spoke at the meeting stressing the need for transparency and accountability.
Governor Radda has directed all APC workers to mobilize electoral support across the state, in preparation for the upcoming elections. He stressed the importance of achieving a complete victory through popular vote and ensuring the success of the elections.
Mr. Radda said that the APC in the state is focused on a transparent, inclusive, and democratic process that strengthens the democratic consciousness.

The governor also acknowledged the rich legacy of the leadership of Katsina State, citing his leadership journey, including his appointment during the former administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Radda also reviewed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s endorsement of Katsina government through ministerial positions and leadership positions.
On his part, former President Buhari reminded leaders at all levels of transparency and accountability. He said that these principles are very important for people to be respected and for politicians to be popular.
The deputy governor of the state, Faruq Lawal Jobe, who is the chairman of the local government election planning committee, explained clearly what the authorities of Radda state have done in terms of health, education, agriculture and human development. He assured the voters that the government is still committed to addressing their needs.
Mr. Jobe also announced the purchase of seeds worth about N9 billion for distribution during Ramadan.
He disclosed that the government has already stored millet, maize, and corn, which are in good condition for timely distribution to the citizens.
In addition, the government has completed the plan to purchase fertilizer for farmers in the first quarter of the year.
“This project aims to ensure that farmers receive agricultural equipment before the rainy season, thereby helping to increase production and ensure that food does not run well,” said Jobe.
Earlier, the APC State President, Sani Aliyu Daura said the caucus meeting was a forum to strengthen unity within the party. He thanked former President Buhari and all party stakeholders for their presence.
The meeting was attended by a notable group of political heavyweights including former governors Aminu Bello Masari and Ibrahim Shehu Shema. Also the ambassadors of the governor, Alhaji Sirajo Umar Damari and Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari attended the meeting.
Other political leaders who attended the caucus were Senator Abu Ibrahim, Senator Abdulaziz Yar Adua, Senator Muntari Dandutse, and Senator Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura. The meeting also attracted members of parliament from the state.
