There are more Yahoo boys in government than outside – Peter Obi

The leader of the Labor Party in 2023, Peter Obi has accused the Nigerian government of having more corrupt people than most people.

Speaking at the 4th graduation ceremony at Nexford University in Lagos on Saturday, Mr. Obi He lamented that Nigeria is being exploited by government officials who misuse resources for profit.

Mr. Obi, who was a guest at the event, stressed the importance of strong leadership, saying that it is important to run things well in the country.

“In terms of governance, don’t think when we talk about bad things, it’s only Yahoo guys. “There are more Yahoo people in the government than those outside because we have turned the whole country into a criminal chaos where people inside steal and people outside steal,” he said.

Change management

Mr. Obi also spoke about good leadership to encourage the graduates to be agents of change in their communities.

“It’s about leadership and lighting the future. It is not rocket science but it is difficult. I can have a strong personality, I can not do wrong,” he said.

“You are there to help change the world you want to live in.” You have learned today. Use what you’ve learned to help us change people.

“You are a victim in Nigeria because our years and past years have refused to do good and you are suffering because of it.”

In his speech, former Minister of Solid Minerals and CEO Human Capital Africa, Oby Ezekwesili emphasized the importance of selfless service as the foundation of leadership.

Mrs. Ezekwesili encouraged the graduates to do activities that will help their careers and the country as a whole.

“Service is the best leadership. We hope you see graduation as an opportunity to do the job,” he said.

“The world of work you are in is different from our world of work. This whole world you are in, you should know it well. “

The importance of online education

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Obi emphasized the important role of online education as a tool to help solve Nigeria’s educational problems and drive the nation’s development.

He also highlighted good examples from countries like Pakistan, India, and Turkey, which have used online platforms to educate the masses effectively.

Mr. Obi stressed that Nigeria should integrate online and physical education to reach the masses while increasing access to quality education.

“We have to educate people more because education is one of the most important tools for development. Any country or the more educated people are, the more developed they will be,” he said.

Nexford graduates, AI software

NXU is an American university located in Washington DC. It was launched in 2019 and has registered “thousands” of Nigerians according to the Head of State of Nigeria, Oghogho Inneh.

Mrs. Inneh noted that about 1,200 students were awarded degrees including Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in various programs.

In his speech, the institute’s founder, Fadl Al-Tarzi, emphasized the university’s commitment to promoting education through technology, especially by integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its programs.

Al Tarzi noted that Nexford has provided AI technology for nearly five years and has integrated AI into all courses.

He highlighted the potential of AI revolution in connecting Nigerian talent to global opportunities and driving economic growth.

“AI has the potential to improve productivity, accelerate research, and solve complex problems in writing time,” he said.

However, he warned that AI could also eliminate jobs, urging stakeholders to prepare for the technological revolution that is affecting Nigeria and global markets.
