Aminu Kanawa, a follower in the line of the rebel leader Bello Turji, the Nigerian military who are involved in Operation Fansan Yamma in the north west of the country.
It was learned that Turji’s brother, Dosso, and one of his close friends, Danbokolo, were seriously injured from the air and ground attack.

Abu Dan Shehu, Jabbi Dogo, Dan Kane, Basiru Yellow, Kabiru Gebe, Bello Buba, and Dan Inna Kahon-Saniya-Yafi-Bahaushe were among the Turji officials who were killed between Monday and Tuesday, according to Buba.
Following the ongoing campaign against insurgents in the North West of the country, the Operation FANSAN YAMMA army team arrested Aminu Kanawa, the second in command of the notorious insurgent Bello Turji, between January 20 and 21, 2025.
“In addition, the military has killed over 24 insurgents who escaped from Bello Turji camp in Gebe and Isa LGAs of Sokoto state, and around Gidan Rijiya in Shinkafi LGA of Zamfara state.”
Mr. Buba also revealed that during the attack on the Turji stronghold adjacent to the Fakai hill station, the soldiers also killed Suleiman, other known terrorists and an associate of the terrorist leader, Halilu Sububu.
He said that when the late Suleiman was killed in a firefight, he was in charge of a mobilization team that was trying to save the chaotic Turji camp.
“The terrorist groups in the north-west of the country, as well as their military and fighting skills, have suffered a serious blow with the death of the deputy leader, who is closely related to Mr. Turji,” he said.
These gangs were notorious throughout the region for their frequent robberies and attacks, especially in Zamfara and Sokoto states in Zurmi, Shinkafi, Isa, and Sabon Birni.
In most cases, the armed forces will not stop until these insurgencies are eradicated. The purpose of the armed forces is to provide a safe and secure environment for all citizens.
